PURPOSE: To provide a diagnostic agent for the infection with Chlamydia trachomatis, having a specific amino acid sequence and exhibiting bonding specificity to the principal outer membrane protein and to provide a new peptide useful e.g. for the purification of a substance originated from the microbial cell.
CONSTITUTION: The objective peptide containing ≥8 amino acid units of an amino acid sequence specified by formula is produced by using a solid-phase resin having Fmoc-Gly group (Fmoc is 9-fluorenylmethoxycarbonyl) as a solid-phase carrier for the solid-phase synthesis of peptide, successively reacting amino acids having protected α-amino group and side-chain functional group from the C-terminal according to the amino acid sequence of the peptide by a coupling reaction using an active ester to synthesize a peptide chain, deprotecting the Fmoc group of the final peptide by passing piperidine, eliminating the peptide from the resin carrier and removing the protective group by passing phenol/trifluoroacetic acid and finally purifying the obtained crude peptide by reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography.
