Abstract:
An objective of the present invention is to provide a phosphorus-containing curing agent having excellent solubility in a solvent and an epoxy resin, an epoxy resin composition containing the curing agent and having excellent heat resistance and flame resistance, and a cured product thereof. The present invention is a phosphorus-containing curing agent represented by the following general formula (1), an epoxy resin composition, and a cured product thereof; the epoxy resin composition containing the phosphorus-containing curing agent and an epoxy resin, and the phosphorus content in the composition is 1.0 to 5.0 mass%. In the formula, X is an aryl group having 2 to 4 substituents selected from a hydroxy group, a carboxy group or an amino group, R1 to R8 each represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 12 carbon atoms, an alkenyl group having 2 to 12 carbon atoms, an aryl group having 6 to 20 carbon atoms, or an aralkyl group having 7 to 20 carbon atoms, and at least one of R1 to R8 is other than a hydrogen atom.
