Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picture processor and a picture processing method, which efficiently remove a background component by varying plural filters based on the presence or absence of a target candidate in a picture signal.
SOLUTION: A picture processor is provided with a first filter 11 which smoothes a given picture signal, a second filer 12 which does not smooth a center area but smoothes only the peripheral area and a control part 15 controlling a system so that the presence or absence of a picture recognized as the candidate of a target is judged from the change of the given picture signal and the signal smoothed by the second filter is subtracted from the inputted picture signal so as to remove only the peripheral background component without damaging the target picture when the picture of the candidate of the target is judged to exist.
