PURPOSE: To facilitate preparation of programs and reduce the number of function keys by giving a function to execute an action mode through operation to push a function key, and a function to execute an action mode through operation to set free a function key, as for functions of action modes.
CONSTITUTION: This portable teaching device is provided with a display part 3 in which an optional letter row can be displayed, and automatic return type function keys F1-F5, and it has action modes to let an automatic machine to execute the action displayed by the letter row by operating these function keys F1-F5, and program editing modes to display the letter row on an editing image plane by operating these function keys F1-F5. A procedure for expressing the function is discribed as a sort of program similar to an usual program for operating the automatic machine. By the discription of the function of action modes, it has the function to execute the action mode through operation to push the function keys F1-F5, and the function to execute the action mode through operation to set free the function keys F1-F5.
