In a portable phone 100, various applications using position information are installed. The portable phone 100 comprises a plurality of position information acquiring sections and acquires the position information by using the position information acquiring sections 131, and comprises a position information managing section 120 for delivering the position information to the application. The position information managing section 120 stores the acquired position information in a plurality of forms in a position log 121. If the position information is required by the application, the position information managing section compares a way of delivering the information stored in the position log 121 with a way of acquiring new position information by using any of the position information acquiring sections and selects the way capable of acquiring the position information appropriate to required accuracy with minimal power consumption to acquire and deliver the position information.
