Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter for a railway vehicle capable of being stably operated even when a part of inverter circuits out of a plurality of inverter circuits constituting an inverter unit is used as service power supply at the time of non-travelling of the railway vehicle.SOLUTION: A power converter for a railway vehicle according to one embodiment comprises an inverter unit having a plurality of inverter circuits and a cooling section commonly used for the plurality of inverter circuits for air-cooling the plurality of inverter circuits. Further, one inverter circuit out of the plurality of inverter circuits can be connected to a transformer for supplying a service power source to low voltage equipment at least at the time of non-travelling of the railway vehicle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
