Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent the buring of a printing head while maintaining the operation rate of a printer by detecting accurately the increase in temperature inside the printing head in printers including a dot printer having a driving coil for driving a dot wire.
CONSTITUTION: The value of resistance which changes by the temperature of the head coil 11 of a printing head 10 is detected by a printing data detecting part 30 as the decrease in voltage, and the detected value is converted into a digital value by an A/D conversion circuit 33. The digital value is then compared with a mode judgement value which is set previously in a judgement value memory 40 in consideration of the individual differences in the printing head etc., the operating mode of a driving duty appropriate to the state of the head coil 11 being selected, and then the printing head 10 is driven.
