PURPOSE: To allow only a registered person to set up the allowable range of a processing mode in a POS system.

CONSTITUTION: An operator registers his (or her) voiceprint or fingerprint and a processing mode allowable range inputted from a processing mode input part 11 in a storage part 12. When the operator inputs voice or the fingerprint from a microphone 13 or an image scanner in the registered state, a decision part 14 collates the read voiceprint or fingerprint with the voiceprint or fingerprint stored in the storage part 12, and when both voiceprints or both fingerprints coincide with each other, a processing mode setting part 15 sets up the previously registered processing mode allowable range.
