Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce cement without charging any new fuel by adding calcium carbonate, calcium hydroxide, calcium oxide, sand, clay, fly ash and/or incineration ash, each used as a cement raw material, to fused slag.
SOLUTION: In this production method, hydraulic compounds (including Portland cement, alumina cement and highly sulfated aluminate), latent hydraulic compounds (including blast-furnace slag vitrified by quenching) and pozzolanic- reactive compounds (including fly ash), which are used for cement or a cement additive are produced by utilizing unrecovered sensible heat of fused slag. As the fused slag, fused steelmaking slag (including blast-furnace slag, converter slag electric-furnace slag), fused nonferrous-metal-making/refining slag (including copper-making/refining slag), fused general waste and fused industrial waste, can be used. It is preferable in order to sufficiently mixing the cement raw material with such fused slag. The cement raw materials are, for example, mechanically agitated together with the fused slag, or in a batch process, crushed and stored in a vessel beforehand, and then mixed with the fused slag, or in a flow process, blown into fused slag together with a gas.
