Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce the title substance useful as a raw material for producing medicines and agricultural chemicals, detergents, solvents, substitutes for fluorocarbons, etc., in high selectivity and yield by reacting a difluorohydrocarbon compound with cobalt trifluoride under mild conditions.
CONSTITUTION: A compound expressed by formula I (R is lower alkyl; R' is H, halogen or lower alkyl) and CoF3 are used at 1:(2-200) molar ratio and reacted at 100 to -500°C for about 10min to 5 days to produce a compound expressed by formula II. The reaction can be carried out in the vapor phase or the liquid phase containing a halogenated hydrocarbon (e.g. CCl4, CCl2F2 or CCl3F), etc., as a solvent according to a batch or continuous method.
