To obtain information on temperature, humidity and illuminance when using a projector to improve the accuracy of the estimation of the time for replacement of a wearout component.
At the step S11, a management apparatus receives and processes data on each of the temperature, humidity and illuminance in use, all being transmitted from the projector. At the step S13, the management apparatus calculates a quantity of light, a temperature dose and a humidity dose based on each of data; and at the S14, it estimates the lifetime of a panel. Subsequently at the S15, the management apparatus calculates the accumulated operating time of the projector; and at the S16, it calculates a used-time rate of the projector. Subsequently at the S17, the management apparatus estimates the time for panel replacement. Accordingly, the management apparatus can estimate the time for replacement of each wearout component by using information data in use, the data being transmitted from the projector.
