Title:
QUINONE DERIVATIVE AND PHOTORECEPTOR OF ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHY BY USING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3668054
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new compound excellent in electron receptivity, good in compatibility with a binding resin, and excellent in matching to a charge- producing agent, and thereby exhibiting excellent electron transport property even in low electric field, and useful as an electron transporting agent in a photoreceptor or the like of an electrophotography.
SOLUTION: This new compound is the one of formula I (R1 and R2 are each H or a 1-4C alkyl). The compound of formula I is obtained by dissolving a compound of formula II in N,N-dimethylformamide, adding barium hydroxide octahydrate to the resultant solution, further adding dimethyl sulfate thereto, reacting the resultant mixture at room temperature for about 5 hr, adding the produced compound to a t-butanol solution of t-BuOK, further adding a t-butanol solution of a compound of formula III thereto, reacting the resultant mixture at 95-100°C for about 5 hr to provide a compound of formula IV, reacting the formed compound of formula IV with calcium carbonate in N,N- dimethylformamide at 40-45°C for about 2 hr, and heating and refluxing the obtained product in a solvent for about 48 hr.
