Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain wall paper not curling its side edge portion on the absorption of moisture by using multi-layered paper comprising plural layers having different fiber compositions, respectively, as the raw paper of the wall paper coated with a plastic coating consisting mainly of polyvinyl chloride. SOLUTION: The raw paper 1 for wall paper comprises both a front surface layer 1a and a back surface layer 1b having different fiber compositions, respectively. The front surface layer 1a consists mainly of chemical pulps, and the back surface layer 1b consists mainly of mechanical pulp and/or broke. The raw paper 1 has a basis weight of 80-180 g/m<2> , preferably 80-120 g/m<2> . A plastic- coated wall paper is obtained by coating the surface of the raw paper 1 with a plastic consisting mainly of polyvinyl chloride to form a plastic coating 2, and further coating the back surface of the raw paper 1 with a paste 3.
