PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique which is beneficial in designing a recording head on which a plurality of chips are mounted.SOLUTION: A recording head is provided with: a first chip which includes a power supply line, a first signal line, a first signal terminal connected to the first signal line, and a resistor for electrically connecting the first signal line to the power supply line, and on which a plurality of recording elements are aligned to perform recording on the basis of external recording data; and a second chip which includes a second signal line, and a second signal terminal connected to the second signal line, and which retains drive information for driving each of the plurality of recording elements. When an input or an output of a signal is absent in the second signal terminal, the first signal terminal and the second signal terminal are electrically connected such that an electrical potential of the second signal line becomes an electrical potential of the power supply line of the first chip.
