Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transfer operation only when a remote requester is usable by allowing the interface between two clusters of symmetrical multiprocessor system to manages resources by a remote storage controller.
SOLUTION: In one storage controller cluster of a dual-node symmetrical multiprocessor system, a remote storage cluster(RSC) interface controller 10 interacts with pairs of local fetch/store controllers 11 and remote fetch/store controllers 12 and sets of centralized multi-stage pipelines 13. To those pipelines 13, asynchronous operation requests generated by N I/O adapter controllers 16 are supplied by a center priority station 14 while given priority. Then all central processing units, I/O adapters, and fetch/store controllers 11 and 13 gain read access and write access to the pipelines 13.
