Abstract:

PURPOSE: To expand the displacement level without using complicated mechanism by a method wherein the outside diameter size of an inner electrode plate is specified within a specific range to that of a piezo-electric body.
CONSTITUTION: The title actuator 1 is composed of plural numbers of piezo-electric bodies 1, elastic bodies 2, and inner electrode plates 3 connected to a driving power supply 4. Besides, a through hole is provided on the central part of the elastic bodies 2 to be filled up with a conductor 5 electrically connecting the piezo-electric bodies to the inner electrode plates 3. The outside diameter of the inner electrode plates 3 is specified to be 20-50% of the outside diameter of the piezo-electric bodies 1. Furthermore, the thickness of the elastic body layers is specified to be 1-20μm, i.e., the value represented by the formula of λ/4 (1+2n) ±1 where, λ represents the resonance wavelength of the title resonance driving piezo-electric actuator while n represents a positive integer.
