Title:
ROTATION SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2007271330
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a rotation sensor capable of detecting angles exceeding 360° while reducing angle errors due to the backlash of gear wheels as much as possible.

The rotation sensor for measuring the angle of rotation of a rotator to be measured through the use of other rotators for measurement is provided with both a first rotator 110 for measurement interlocked with the rotator 150 to be measured to rotate approximately at the same number of revolutions and a second rotator 120 for measurement interlocked with the first rotator for measurement to rotate at a number of revolutions smaller than the first rotator for measurement. A permanent magnet having a magnetic field in diametrical directions is arranged at each center of the first rotator for measurement and the second rotator for measurement. A prescribed number of Hall devices 112 and 122 are each separately arranged independently of the rotation of each rotator for measurement at locations at which changes of diametrical magnetic fields each generated by the permanent magnets can be detected. Output of the magnetic detection elements is used to detect the angle of rotation of each rotator for measurement and measure the angle of rotation of the rotator to be measured.
