Title:
SERVO SIGNAL SYSTEM OF MAGNETIC RECORDER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS54131910
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain perfect position signals by writing servo signals in first, second servo tracks with sawtooth waveform current so that the read waveforms of the servo signals become of opposite polarities with the first, second servo tracks. CONSTITUTION:Writing of servo signals of saw tooth waves wherein the sloping directions of the sawtooth wave signals are respectively opposite and the phases at the rising differ is accomplished in the first, second servo tracks which position a magnetic head with respect to the data tracks of a magnetic recording medium. Hence, with these read signal waveforms, peak values of positive or negative polarity are obtained only at the rise point of the sawtooth waves and the outputs become nearly of a constant value at the sloping portions. As a result, if one is the peak value of the positive polarity, the other becomes a peak value of the negative polarity and separation of both may be readily performed, thus the perfect position signals may be obtained without using phase synchronizing circuit, etc.
