PURPOSE: To provide the shampoo composition having a sufficient cleansing property, improving the touch of hair when the hair is dried, and high in the durability of the hair-conditioning effect.

CONSTITUTION: This champoo composition contains (A) 5-40wt.% of a cleansing component selected from an anionic surfactant (e.g. an alkyl ether sulfate), an amphoteric surfactant (e.g. an amide betaine type surfactant), a nonionic surfactant (e.g. polyoxyethylene alkyl ether) and a cationic surfactant (e.g. an alkylimidazoline opened ring type quaternary ammonium salt), and (B) 0.05-5wt.%, preferably 0.1-2wt.%, of a quaternary ammonium salt having an asymmetric di-long chain alkyl or alkenyl group or an amine salt of the formula [R1 is branched 8-28C alkyl; R2 is linear 8-22C alkyl or alkenyl; R3, R4 are 1-4C alkyl, H (excluding a case that both of the R3 and R4 are simultaneously H); X is halogen, 1-4C alkylsulfate].
