Abstract:
PURPOSE:To achieve a higher accuracy of detecting the direction of the sun, by providing a cylinder lens to cancel axial interference errors due to a window glass of a linear image sensor. CONSTITUTION:A window glass 4 is used for airtight sealing and protection in front of a semiconductor chip 3 of a linear image sensor 2. A linear slit 1 transmitting light is formed perpendicular to the chip 3 in front of the sensor 2. A cylinder lens 7 is arranged in front of the slit 1 to cancel axial interference errors due to the window glass 4. The curvature of a lens 7 is so set that the sun is inclined within a plane perpendicular to a Y-Z plane and at an angle alphato the Z axis to cancel deviation of the sun on a light receiving surface of the chip 3 in matching the sun. Thus, the arrangement of the cylinder lens 7 eliminates effect of refraction of light due to the window glass 4 thereby enabling exact and highly accurate detection of the direction of the sun.
