Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide the subject catalyst component having a high catalytic activity and giving high stereospecific polymers by bringing the Mg salt of an organic acid or an inorganic acid containing one or more oxygen atoms, a liquid Ti compound and a compound having plural ether linkages through plural atoms into contact with each other. CONSTITUTION:Ethylene and/or an alpha-olefin are polymerized in the presence of an olefin polymerization catalyst comprising (A) a solid Ti catalyst component and (B) an organic metal compound catalyst component containing a metal selected from the periodic table group I-III metals, the solid Ti catalyst component being prepared by bringing the Mg salt of an organic acid or an inorganic acid containing one or more oxygen atoms, a liquid Ti compound and a compound having two or more ether linkages through plural atoms into contact with each other and containing Ti, Mg, halogen and two or more ether linkages.
