Abstract:

PURPOSE: To increase the processing speed of the titled system by using the maximum/minimum method to a multi-processor to perform the join of plural tables.

CONSTITUTION: Reduction processors PA and PB which process data of tables A and B respectively are connected to a join processor via maximum/minimum filters 12A and 12B. Maximum/minimum filters 5A and 5B support the maximum /minimum method and filter the tuples on the basis of the maximum and minimum values stored in a maximum/minimum buffer 6. The maximum and minimum values of a joint field are set to the buffer 6 through an input part, a sorting part and an output part and referred to by the maximum/minimum filter. Thus the best use of the maximum/minimum method is secured with a multi-processor system. This system can increase the processing speed of said system.
