This stack of sheet pressing device 6C includes: pressing bodies 41, 43 coming into contact with a stack S of sheets to press the stack of sheets to a predetermined support surface 19; a pressing force transmitting member 46 supporting the pressing bodies 41, 43, obtaining the pressing force from a pressure source 70, and transmitting the pressing force to the pressing bodies 41, 43; and a uniform abutting means 47 for uniformly abutting the pressing bodies 41, 43 extending over the full length to the stack S of sheets.
