Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the vertical dimension of a liquid tank having an internally arranged pump and enhance cushioning function and assembling workability.

CONSTITUTION: The upstream end 13a of a main pipe 13 is penetrated through the fitting plate 12 for closing a fuel tank 11 and is fixed thereto. A cylindrical bracket 14 is fixed to the fitting plate 12 so as to be extended downward from the fitting plate 12. A fuel pump 15 is supported inside the cylindrical bracket with its discharge pipe turned upward. A cushioning means A is made up of a partition body 16 abutted on the discharge pipe, a cushioning chamber defined between the partition body 16 and the upstream end 13a, and a coil spring 17 for energizing the partition body to the discharge pipe side. The discharge port and the communicating hole are liquid-tightly communicated. The partition body is made vertically slidable with regard to the bracket, so that the absorption and recovery of the relative displacement of the fuel pump can be enabled.
