Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a fault continuously even when a device that detects the fault is faulty without increasing a communication information amount to detect the fault in the case of detecting the presence of the fault of lots of devices interconnected via a network.
SOLUTION: Monitors 1, 2, 3, 11, 12,...mn are connected via a network 5 and an address is given to each. A monitor in charge of detecting a fault is set in the ascending order, for example/of the addresses. For example, the two monitors 1, 2 are selected as monitors in charge of detecting a fault and they detect a fault of other monitors than them. In the case that the monitor 1 is faulty, the monitor 3 whose address is next is selected as a new monitor in charge of detecting a fault and then the fault detection continues. Thus, a fault is detected at all times by a minimum and required number of monitors.
