Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an inorganic sintered structure body useful for a catalyst carrier or the like containing the segment having a high aspect ratio provided with flexibility capable of being bent to the effective curvature radius of less than 20 cm without breakage.

CONSTITUTION: The preform of a thin sheet or the like containing ceramic such as zirconias, titanias, aluminas, silicas and rare earth metal oxides, etc., metals such as steel and stainless steel, etc., and stabilizer and reinforcement, etc., as needed is sintered and formed into a sintered body whose thickness is preferably less than 30 μm and especially less than 10 μm. The sintered body is provided with the flexibility for permitting bending of less than 20 cm (preferably less than 5 cm, most preferably less than 0.5 cm).
