PURPOSE: To easily execute the timely retrieval and analysis of accumulated sales result data by providing a means to output either a classification code or a general merchandise code or the both when outputting the sales result data.
CONSTITUTION: Corresponding to the general merchandise code, the classification code provided originally for a user is stored in the merchandise record of a price look-up (PLU) and when selling merchandise, the sold number of merchandise and the sales amount are respectively added to an accumulated data area for the sales number and the sales amount set to the merchandise code. When outputting the sales result data, as a data retrieval condition, the classification code is inputted from an input part 12 of a POS terminal 10 or from an external device 9 to a preset area 15. Then, the sales result data of the merchandise having the classification code matched with this designated classification code is outputted to a display 7, printer 8 of the POS terminal 10 or to the external device 9. Thus, the data can be analyzed as it is without converting the sales result data obtained from the POS to a code.
