Abstract:

PURPOSE: To perform high-precise detection of breakage of a tool which may occur even when a load is not so much applied on a rotation shaft and the feed shaft of a tool.
CONSTITUTION: In addition to monitor disturbance load torque of a shaft to effect relative movement between a main spindle and a work, and a tool by a rotary shaft disturbance torque estimating means 1 and a movement shaft disturbance load torque estimating means 2, disturbance load torque of a shaft not effecting relative movement between the work and the tool is also monitored by static shaft disturbance load torque estimating means 3 and 4. From disturbance load torque estimated thereby, breakage of a tool is decided by a comparing means 5 and when breakage of a toll occurs, a machine is stopped by a machine stop command means 6.
