Title:
TREATMENT OF WASTE WATER CONTAINING AMMONIA AND FLUORINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3265629
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To easily, efficiently and stably decompose residual ammonia over a long period by removing fluorine from a waste water contg. ammonia and fluorine and then bringing the waste water into contact with a metal carrying catalyst in the presence of an oxidizing agent in a specified temp. range.
CONSTITUTION: A waste water contg. ammonia (NH3 or ammonium ion NH4+) and fluorine (F-) is supplied to a storage tank 1 and then introduced into a fluorine remover 2 through a pipeline 11 to remove the F- by crystallization, ion exchange, etc. The waste water is then introduced into a heat exchanger 3 through a pipeline 12, heat-exchanged with effluent water from a decomposition tower 5 and heated, and the water is further heated by a pipeline 13 provided with a heater 4, introduced into the tower 5 at 80-170°C and brought into contact with a metal carrying catalyst 5A to decompose and remove NH3. The waste water freed from NH3 is discharged outside the system as the treated water of the tower 5 through a pipeline 14 and the heat exchanger 3.
