A vehicle lamp system includes a vehicle lamp that forms a light distribution pattern for a right side high beam and a light distribution pattern for a left side high beam, wherein the light distribution pattern for the left side high beam has an irradiation area where at least a portion thereof is shifted from the irradiation area formed by the light distribution pattern for the right side high beam; and a control unit that controls the vehicle lamp. The control unit switches between the light distribution pattern for the right side high beam and the light distribution pattern for the left side high beam via a formation state of a light distribution pattern for a low beam.
