PURPOSE: To attain practical use of a device having generality such as educational use for an infant, etc., by generating a pulse signal at set time intervals by an instruction of a count start, counting the signal, and uttering it as a voice output.
CONSTITUTION: When a count start is instructed by an input device 3, a timer means 2a generates a pulse signal at a time interval which is set in advance. A counting means 2b counts the pulse signal up to a set count value, and outputs a pronunciation request signal corresponding to the number of countings to a voice output device 1. The device 1 received the pronunciation request signal generates a voice of 'one', 'two', 'three'..., etc. by synthesizing a voice. When the number of countings reaches the set count value, the operation is stopped. In such a way, the titled counter has generality such as teaching how to read a numeral and its connection, to an infant, or a bath use counter, etc., and has practicability extending over a long period of time.
