PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve special resolution by a method wherein weighting processing is performed to a received signal obtd. by a receiver and based on a plurality of weighted received signals, transmitting direction of wave which reached an aperture or position of a wave source forming waves is obtd.
SOLUTION: A receiving part 10 of an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus receives wave which reached a specified aperture a accompanied with the potential information in the aperture and weighting processing is performed to the received signal received by means of a receiver 10 by using a plurality kinds of weighting functions with the position in the aperture a as a variable in a weighting processing part 20. Then, in an operational part 30, based on a plurality of weighted received signals obtd. by weighting processing in the weighting processing part 20, the transmitting direction of the wave which reached the aperture (a) or the position of the wave which generated the wave is obtd. e.g. by an operation obtaining the ratio of a plurality of weighted received signals each other. In addition, an image based on the formed image signals is displayed on an image displaying part 40.
