Abstract:
A battery block (100) is provided with a metal case (120) having side surfaces (122) and a bottom surface (123), and multiple unit cells (110) housed inside the metal case (120). Each unit cell (110) comprises a first electrode and a second electrode that is electrically-isolated from the first electrode, and that doubles as a battery case for the unit cell (110). The multiple unit cells (110) are arranged so as to be aligned in the direction of the first electrodes. The first electrodes of the multiple unit cells (110) are connected to a connection body (130), which is positioned on the open side of the metal case (120). The second electrodes of the multiple unit cells (110) are connected to the bottom surface (123) of the metal case (120). The height of the side surfaces (122) of the metal case is roughly the same as the height of the unit cells (110), and the open side of the metal case (120) is almost entirely covered by the connection body (130).
