Abstract:
A bridging system in the IP multimedia subsystem comprises an Interrogating Call Session Control Function (I-CSCF, 2), a Breakout Gateway Control Function (BGCF, 4), a Serving Call Session Control Function (S-CSCF, 2) and a Media Gateway Control Function (MGCF, 4). Further a bridging method in the IP multimedia subsystem comprises the following steps: user terminal communicates with the other user terminals according to the routing rule of the I-CSCF (2); standing by the routing rule, the I-CSCF (2) performs the routing according to the network which the calling or called user belongs to. In the network according to this invention, the MGCF (6) and S-CSCF (1) could interconnect with the entity in the same network. Further, only the I-CSCF (2) (or via the Interconnecting Border Control Function unit (I-BCF, 5)) and the BGCF (4) could interconnect with the entity in the outer network, so the network is simplified and the unified management of the whole routing function is advantage to perform. Alternatively the IP routing is performed only via the Interconnecting Border Control Function unit (I-BCF, 5), so the security risk could be reduced from the topological concealing viewpoint.
