Abstract:

Provided is a clamp device having high clamping force and high operability when attaching/detaching a cutting insert. The clamp device has: a guide hole (22); a screw hole (21) formed in a direction from the lateral surface (20b) of a tool holder (20) and intersecting the guide hole (22); a clamp member (1) having a clamp section (2) and disposed movably within the guide hole (22); and a screw member (10) that is screwed into the screw hole (21) and is able to move in a first and second direction. The screw member (10) can engage the clamp member (1) when moving in both the first and second direction. The guide hole (22) has: a first cam surface (22a) that engages the clamp member (1) and that converts force in the first direction received from the screw member (10) to force moving the clamp member (1) in the direction towards the cutting insert (30); and a second cam surface (22b) that converts force in the second direction to force moving the clamp section (2) in the direction away from the cutting insert (30).
