Abstract:
It is intended to provide a composition for ophthalmic use which exerts a favorable moistening effect on the eye and advantageously relieving unpleasantness such as fear of unstabilization of eyesight, thereby achieving improved feelings in using. A composition for ophthalmic use prepared by dissolving hydroxypropylmethylcellulose, which has a molecular weight lower than the cobwebbing critical molecular weight at a hydroxypropylmethylcellulose concentration of 3 w/w%, in an aqueous medium to give a dynamic viscosity at 20°C of 2 mm2/s or lower.
