Abstract:
The width (W1) of a groove (5a) is formed narrower than the width (W2) of a groove (6a). The width (W2) of the groove (6a) is formed at a predetermined width such that a seal material (8) that passes over the groove (5a) can be formed along the groove (6a). The seal material (8) spreads across the entirety of the groove (5a) and the groove (6a) when a colour filter substrate (2) and an active matrix substrate (3) are affixed. In plan view, the groove (5a) is formed so as to be positioned in the groove (6a).
