Abstract:
Provided is an onboard device that records an event using cameras installed on surrounding vehicles. An onboard device comprising an imaging unit (101) that images at least license plates of surrounding vehicles (203) from a host vehicle (201), a license plate recognition unit (102) that recognizes license plate information from the imaged license plates of the surrounding vehicles, an event information detection unit (103) that detects event information pertaining to the host vehicle, and a transmission unit (104) that transmits the license plate information pertaining to the surrounding vehicles and transmits event information pertaining to the host vehicle for performing control so as to cause a specified surrounding vehicle to record an event image.
