Abstract:
This optical transport system is provided with an optical transmission device and an optical reception device which receives, via an optical transport path, a signal transmitted from the optical transmission device. The optical transport system is provided with: a transport mode selection unit which selects, in decreasing order of priority, transport mode information from among a plurality of pieces of transport mode information which comprises a combination of a plurality of parameters relating to transport performance, the transport mode information being common to the transport performance of the optical transmission device and the optical reception device; a signal transmission unit which transmits a signal modulated on the basis of the selected transport mode information to the optical reception device; and a signal reception unit which receives the signal and demodulates the received signal on the basis of the transport mode information selected by the transport mode selection unit.
