Abstract:

Provided are a resin composition capable of providing a carbon fiber-reinforced composite material having excellent mechanical properties while maintaining the high flame retardancy and heat resistance of phenolic resin, a carbon fiber-reinforced composite material precursor obtained using the resin composition, a carbon fiber-reinforced composite material obtained from the precursor, and a carbon fiber-reinforced carbon material. A resin composition is used that is obtained by including as essential components a resol-type phenolic resin, a novolak-type phenolic resin, and at least one alcohol selected from the group consisting of methanol, ethanol, and n-propyl alcohol.
