Abstract:
Photoelectric conversion sealing members (40, 60) sealing photoelectric conversion
modules (42, 62) are arranged in recesses (32a, 32b) which are formed in a substrate
(30) incorporating an optical waveguide (34) in the depth direction from the
surface thereof, and wiring (44, 64) from the photoelectric conversion modules
(42, 62) is exposed to a plane substantially flush with the opening end face of
the recesses (32a, 32b). Since the wiring (44, 64) is exposed to a plane substantially
flush with the opening end face of the recesses (32a, 32b), the length from the
wiring (44, 64) to LSI packages (10a, 10b) can be shortened as compared with a case
where the wiring from the photoelectric conversion module is passed through
the substrate, and an electric signal can be inputted/outputted at a higher rate
between the photoelectric conversion modules (42, 62) and the LSI packages (10a,
10b).
