Abstract:

An underwater communication device (100) is provided with: an audio interface (4); a transceiver unit; a voice quality conversion unit; and a main unit (1), etcetera. A bone conduction/throat microphone unit, which is built-into the audio interface (4), converts the vocal-cord vibrations of a diver to audio signals. The voice quality conversion unit converts the audio signals to audio signals based on a more intelligible sound. A transmitter unit, which is built-into the transceiver unit, transmits the converted audio signals to the outside. A receiver unit, which is built into the transceiver unit, receives audio data which is transmitted from the outside. A bone conduction speaker unit, which is built into the audio interface (4), outputs vibrations which correspond to the audio data received by the receiver unit. Mounting sections (1, 2, 3) are worn by a diver in a state so as to bring the bone conduction speaker unit into contact with the diver. The receiver unit and the bone conduction speaker unit are integrally attached to the main unit (1).
