Title:
ASSEMBLY TYPE CAM SHAFT FOR ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3508824
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assembly type cam shaft in which cracking of a can or the like at the time of assemblage can be prevented, and in which a tightening member can be of a small diameter.
SOLUTION: A shaft tube is inserted through shaft holes 6 in tightening members such as a cam, a journal, and a nose piece having grooves 22 in axial direction in the shaft holes 6, and the tube is further expanded, so a shaft tube outer circumferential surface is engaged with the grooves 22 to tighten the tightening members with the shaft tube to provide a cam shaft, where the grooves 22 are formed to have a cross section comprising plural arcs, thereby stress concentration at the tightening members can be reduced.
