Title:
CHARGING CIRCUIT FOR SECONDARY BATTERY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3177524
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To interrupt quick charging at an accurate timing by decreasing the charging current when the number of temperature data, having difference from a newest temperature data exceeding a predetermined value, reaches a predetermined number thereby catching an abrupt temperature rise at the end of charging of a secondary battery positively.
CONSTITUTION: Assuming the temperature data stored, respectively, in memory areas M0-MK-1 are T0-TK-1, a CPU 6 calculates the differential data between a newest temperature data T0 and other temperature data T1-TK-1. Each temperature difference data is then checked against a predetermined value and when the number of temperature data exceeding the predetermined value reaches a predetermined number, a decision is made that quick charging has completed. The CPU 6 then controls a charging power supply 1 to decrease the charging current and to make a transition to a supplementary charging mode or a trickle charging mode.
