Abstract:
To continuously evaluate the condition of grease enclosed without disassembling a rolling bearing and sampling the grease.SOLUTION: A condition evaluation method for grease inside a rolling bearing comprises: a rolling bearing preparation step for preparing a rolling bearing provided with an outer ring 11 having a rod insertion hole 21 having (that is, of, or) a through hole in a radial direction; a rod setting step for setting an arrangement such that a columnar rod 41 is placed in a shiftable manner inside a rod insertion hole 21, and one end portion 47 of the rod 41 is in contact with the grease enclosed inside the rolling bearing; a measurement step for measuring a load applied on the rod 41 and a displacement of the rod 41 when the rod 41 is displaced toward the grease; and an evaluation step for evaluating the condition of the grease on the basis of the load and the displacement measured in the measurement step.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
