Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent the slag inclusion into a mold by arranging a stopper ring vertically following to molten steel surface in a tundish.

CONSTITUTION: In order to prevent the flow-out of tundish slag caused by the development of eddy at the time of being low molten steel level or high speed casting, by using a tundish stopper 5 as a guide, the stopper ring 5 floating up on the molten steel according to ascent/descent of the molten steel surface in the tundish is made to be freely and vertically slide. By this stopper ring 5, the slag inclusion 9 accompanied with the eddy 10 ordinarily developed can be prevented.
