Abstract:
To increase the holding strength of a crankcase 20 for a bush 53, lighten the weight of the crankcase 20, and prevent the thermal expansion of the crankcase 20 from affecting a bearing 35, in a crankshaft support structure including the bush 53 for firmly holding a bearing member 35 on the crankcase 20, the bearing member which rotatably supports the crankshaft 28 on the crankcase 20.
The outer peripheral surface 53a of the bush 53 which is cast in the crankcase 20 is formed in a cylindrical shape and many small protrusions 54 each including a constricted part 55 are formed thereon. Accordingly, the holding strength of the crankcase 20 for the bush 53 is increased, and the thickness of a bush holding part 62 of the crankcase 20 is reduced.
