PURPOSE: To simplify the inputting operation of an edition by successively and continuously allowing a set editing function to execute for plural designated characters or areas to be edited.
CONSTITUTION: The editing function to be executed is selected by an editing function selecting means 3 from among an editing function selection area displayed at a display means 1. The selected function is set in an executable state on a storage means 2. Next, the objective characters or areas for which the selected function is allowed to execute are designated by an edition area designating means 4, the editing function set in the executable state for the designated objective characters or areas is valid until the new editing function is selected next, and the editing function is executed for the entire successively designated plural objective characters or areas. Therefore, it is not necessary to set the same function each time only by successively and continuously repeating the operation of designating the characters or areas to be edited for which the editing function is allowed to execute.
