Title:
ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE BONDING METHOD OF METAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5714669
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To cure and bond a metal in a short time without requiring the external heating, by passing an electric current through electrically conductive adherends with a thermosetting adhesive composition layer having the electric conductivity of carbon black incorporated therein between the adherends, and self-heating the adhesive composition layer.

CONSTITUTION: A thermosetting adhesive layer composition (C) having the electric conductivity of carbon black incorporated therein is placed between adherends (A) and (B), and a voltage is applied across the adherends (A) and (B) to self-heat and cure the adhesive composition layer (C). Thus, the adherends (A) and (B), e.g. zinc, aluminum or alloy, are bonded. Preferably, 100pts.wt. thermosetting adhesive composition is incorporated with 0.1W50pts.wt. carbon black to give a volume resistivity of 105Ω.cm or less and 1W20pts.wt. powdery, granular or fibrous insulator not to short (shortcircuit) the adherends (A) and (B) to each other.
