PURPOSE: To make it possible to rotate reliably each of a plurality of installing heads at high speed at by a necessary angle by a method wherein a small gap is formed between a member to be driven and a driving member and a head rotating/driving mechanism is provided with driving member, which is magnetically coupled with each installing head and is rotated by a driving source.
CONSTITUTION: An installing head 1 is pushed down by a lever 8, an electronic component 4 being attracted on the lower end of the head 1 is placed on a substrate 12 and thereafter, the head is made to ascend. When a magnet piece (a member to be driven) 2 on the upper end of the head 1 and a magnet piece (a driving member) 31 on the side of a pedestal 7 are made to oppose to each other, the magnetic poles of the opposed magnet pieces must be respectively a magnetic pole different from each other in such a way that the fellow magnet pieces suck into each other. There, while rotating plates 5a and 5b are rotated by 1/4, that is, while a certain installing head 1 goes coming out from the position of a head rotating/driving mechanism 3 and other installing head 1 comes getting in the position of this mechanism 3, a motor 30 is rotated and the magnet piece 31 is rotated and is made to stand by in such a way that its magnetic pole is different from that of a magnet piece 2 to next oppose to the magnet piece 31. Thereby, the following electronic component 4 can be automatically installed at a prescribed position on the substrate 12 at a prescribed angle.
